Description of Survey Plots
We have developed two plots, polar synoptic maps ( polar example) and survey time history plots ( survey example), that characterize the distribution and temporal variation of the auroral perturbations observed. Both plots are routinely produced for each day and are provided in jpeg format. These are our first generation products and will be refined or modified as we continue to develop improved tools for working with the data and extracting additional quantitative information.
Naming conventions: plrYYYYMMDD.jpeg and srvyYYYYDDMM.jpeg where YYYY is the four digit year, MM is the decimal month and DD is the day of the month. This date corresponds to the day on which the data in the plot start. Plots cover 0800 UTC of the start day to 0800 UTC of the following day.
